What is the 14-19 Area Wide Prospectus?
York and North Yorkshire have developed an online Area Wide Prospectus (AWP) for 14 to 19 year old learners.
As the name suggests, the AWP provides a web-based, searchable database of all local courses offered by providers in York and North Yorkshire for young people. Therefore, rather than learners manually flicking through multiple prospectuses, the AWP is an easy way to access courses on offer across York and North Yorkshire.
Who are the providers on the Area Wide Prospectus?
There are currently 91 providers details and courses listed on the AWP. A provider is a school, sixth form, FE college and work based learning providers.
Are all courses are listed on the Area Wide Prospectus?
Yes, all provisions available for 14-19 year old learners are listed on the AWP including:
- Basic/Key Skills
- GCSEs
- AS levels
- A levels
- Vocational Qualifications
- Diplomas and Apprenticeships.
Who can access the Area Wide Prospectus?
- 14-19 year old learners can access the AWP to help them make decisions on option choices and progression routes.
- Parents/carers will also find the AWP useful as it allows access to Ofsted reports.
Do I need a Username and Password to access the Area Wide Prospectus?
No, the AWP can be accessed without a username and password, therefore everyone has access to it, including parents/carers when it suits them.
Can I find out about events organised in York and North Yorkshire from the AWP?
Yes, all events including open days organised by the providers are listed on the AWP.
